Being cool means respecting the work of your peers, the agency of your instructors, and acknowledging the years of practice and learning that inform our instructors' knowledge. Actions that are not cool include taking our instructors' materials and teaching them as your own, copying handouts without attribution, distributing private videos without permission, or making hurtful comments in our chat rooms.
While we (obviously) welcome and encourage knowledge-sharing, our teachers should have a say in how their information is disseminated. As such, their teaching material should not be shared beyond the class, unless expressly permitted, verbally or via email, and credited to the teacher. Formulas can be adapted for your personal work, but not shared with others, and we do not share our instructors’ slide shows.
Video recordings of these events is not permitted, except when expressly permitted verbally or via email by the presenter. We send videos of most of the classes for review within 12 hours of the class ending, and they are available for three days for online viewing. Please watch them in that window, and do not share them beyond yourself.
Our chat rooms and class time are for the express purpose of furthering knowledge. Comments which may even loosely be construed as upsetting or offensive will not be tolerated, and will lead to ejection from the class. If the behavior continues, it will possibly lead to being refused entry to further classes.
Each class is designed to cover the a specific curriculum. Please keep questions and comments on topic. Have a look at the resources section at www.artandolfaction.com for questions about suppliers and other learning resources.
